Friday FIll In

A view from my deck.

This is a neat way to end the week. I found this on some ones blog, (sorry, I can't remember who's) The link is on the right.

And...here we go!

1. It's time for it to stop raining.

2. My deck; it's not a bad place for just "being".

3. I must be getting old, my knees crack every time in bend down!

4. My daughters hugs are the best thing I have ever known.

5. My life is simply awesome, I couldn't ask for anything more. Really great kids and a wonderful husband, health, happiness. I feel like the Brady Bunch!

6. The last time I laughed really loudly was the other night watching "Wild Hogs".

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to finishing my Sherbrooke Cowl, tomorrow my plans include mowing the mile high lawn and Sunday, I want to sit by the pool! This fox decided to graze in our trough. I wish he would just get the millions of chipmunks making a mess of my garden.

Ahhh.... Heat!

Well, we were asking for it and we got it. 84% humidity.
This is the only Photo from NH I could find with lightening. It has been so hot and humid with thunderstorms all week.

On a good note though, it is a good time to knit. I have worked hard on my
Dream in Color Shrug. I am about half way through it. Multi-tasking has never been one of my strong points, so I have to knit this one with out any interruptions or distractions.

and I am almost finished my Blueberry Boy Bait.

I only have 4 more inches to knit on this one. It is actually a good pattern to knit while watching TV.

Rainy Days

The rain is just unreal today. It suits the week though. These last 9 days have been a whirlwind. My DH has been diagnosed with Giardia! He has lost 12 pounds and is so gaunt. But after 5 days of in and out at the hospital and doctors office, they finally diagnosed him. It has been a terrible ordeal for him. The emergency room was the worst. We had to wait for 6 hours before even being seen! He is on the mend as I type this due to great antibiotics!
On the knitting note, I just purchased a great pattern from Wendy. Just scroll down the page to see her "smoke ring". The colors she used in her handspun is what turned me on to this pattern. I am waiting for some yarn to come in to dye it and then begin! I don't think I will make it as big as hers, but more like a cowl. Although, it is beautiful the way it is!

Jane of the Jungle... EEEK!

I know this is supposed to be a knitting blog, but I am fascinated by all of the creatures I am seeing in my yard. I haven't really ever liked bugs or creepy things, But the colors are great! I am starting to understand where people who get their ideas for yarn colors come from. I guess I should start looking closer for ideas (but not too close!) This one "flew" my way this morning. It is a Blinded Sphinx moth. Okay, not really blind, I am assuming the "eyes" are supposed to scare you off. Sure scared me when I thought it was a dead flower head!
Now, I noticed the colors on it, and realized I would never have thought to put those together, but they are really pretty. I am going to try to duplicate these in a sock yarn. What do you think? Maybe someone would buy it. Between this one and the milk snake colors from my last post, I should start my own line of colors..... New England vertebrates and invertebrates. Um, okay, maybe not.!! Suggestions anyone??

Ewe...a snake!

I hate snakes. I have always been afraid of them. This one was in my yard last night when I was taking the dogs for a walk. They freaked! Well, so did I.
Its a Milk Snake. I guess they are harmless but will rear its head like a rattler. My DD thought is was "cute". Uggh. >:P
On the other hand, I liked the colors of it and was thinking, hmmmmm........ those colors are beautiful and would make a great skein of yarn! That's me, always thinking! But there is no way in heck I am going to get close enough to investigate the colors personally. Thank goodness for camera's!

Blueberry Boy Bait

Wow, this yarn is truly beautiful. We went blueberry picking today and the colors reminded me of the yarn. I am calling my project "Blueberry Boy Bait" after a recipe my sister in law makes every time we go picking. I made it for my DH long ago when we were dating and it worked! We have been married 20 years now and I make it every year. Thanks Cathy!!
This is Dream in Color Derby, and I am making a cowl from it. I am almost finished. 10 inches complete, only 8 to go. Its an easy pattern I found online by LollyKnitting Around. Just scroll down to find her patterns.

Dream in Color Shrug

I love this pattern!
